Smrithi Supporting Palav
My name is Smrithi Kattethota, and I look forward to your presence and blessings at my Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha/Arangetram on June 29th, Saturday at Towsley Auditorium in Ann Arbor, MI.
I started learning Bharatanatyam from Smt. Dhanya Vani Rao at the age of 6. I have been extremely lucky to be able to learn under the able guidance of my Dear Guru - Vani Auntie. Through this great art form my beloved Guru Vani Auntie has helped me create a strong connection to my Indian cultural and traditional roots.
I will be an incoming Sophomore in the fall of 2019 at Northville High School. I participate in clubs in school such as Model United Nations and DECA. When I grow up, I aspire to become a lawyer, like my maternal grandfather and great-grandfather.
I am fortunate to perform my Arangetram this year with the blessings of my Guru, grandparents, parents, family and friends. I am forever thankful and grateful for that, however, not everyone is as fortunate as I am. And that is why I strongly believe that I need to volunteer my time by aiding those that require assistance.
My passion for giving back to the community has led me to this nonprofit, PALAV. It is a nonprofit organization that follows their mission statement - “Saving babies with Weak Lungs”. I would like to dedicate my Bharatanatyam Arangetram to PALAV.
PALAV was founded in 2010 by Mrs. Archana and Dr. Nitin Chouthai and has grown significantly over the past 8 years into a global nonprofit that is well-known for saving the lives of thousands of babies and donating medical equipment to medical facilities in developing countries.
Furthermore, PALAV has a very effective setting in India, Sri Lanka and Africa, and they have numerous ongoing projects in different cities across India. I strongly believe that PALAV, through their knowledge, medical expertise, and volunteers, can make a significant change in this world.
On the occasion of my Bharatanatyam milestone, I kindly request your love and blessings, and in lieu of gifts, kindly consider donating to PALAV. These babies and their families in the rural areas of developing countries require PALAV’s guidance and service to thrive.
Its takes just $40 to save a life of a premature born baby. Saving a life is a noble cause.
Donate generously your blessings to me, donate generously to PALAV. It would mean a lot to me.
