Palav Story

Palav was founded in 2010 after our founder, a neonatologist practicing in the U.S., visited a public hospital in India and was confronted with a heartbreaking reality : 50 critically ill newborns being cared for with just one ventilator and one blood pressure monitor. Deeply moved, he and his wife used their personal savings to send a used ventilator to India — the first of many. What began as a single act of compassion grew into a global nonprofit committed to improving neonatal care in underserved regions. Today, Palav builds NICU capacity by donating life-saving equipment, training local healthcare providers, and creating sustainable systems to support newborns and their families. With over 50 NICUs supported, 7 Rotary projects implemented, and partnerships across India, Africa, and Latin America, Palav is on a mission to create 1,000 NICU beds and save 1 million babies over the next 20 years."Palav" means a new beginning — and that’s what we aim to give every child we serve.
