Mr. John Rivituso

John began his career as a registered Respiratory Therapist in 1983, having worked in several regional hospitals within the Upstate New York area. John received a Bachelor’s of Resp Care (BSRC) from Independence University and is NBRC board certified in Respiratory Therapy in the areas of critical care and neonatology since 1984. In 1990 he became the Administrative Director of Cardiopulmonary Services for Northeast Health, consisting of two acute care facilities in the Albany/Troy NY area.


In 1993 during his tenure at Northeast Health, John was one of 11 professional members appointed to the inaugural licensing board for the profession of Respiratory Therapy by the New York State Board of Regents Education Dept. During his 20 year appointment (1993-2013)John served on several board committees including disciplinary and moral character hearings for the profession. During his time on the board John served as full chair of the board 95’-97’ and as chair of the Licensing and Exam committee from 98’-99’


2000 John was part of the launch team for Chiesi Pharmaceutical within the USA through its affiliation with Dey Pharmaceutical, Napa, Ca. His team was responsible for the launch of Curosurf within the US, during his time in pharma John remained being a patient advocate for the neonatal community, he served initially as a neonatal product specialist until 2012, at which time he transferred into Chiesi’s Medical Affairs Dept, as their first US based Medical Science Liaison for Neonatology. Over the years as an Executive Medical Science Liaison John helped to mentor, train and grow Chiesi’s medical affairs team throughout the country. John retired in March 2025 from Chiesi after 25 years of supporting Chiesi and the neonatal community. During his tenure with Chiesi John has been an honored recipient of the inaugural Patient Advocacy Award(2024) and Medical Affairs Excellence Award(2025)



Over the years John has been a member of the NBRC (National Board Resp Care), AARC (American Association of Resp Care), NYSSRC(New York State Society of Resp Care) and ACMA, BCMAS (Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist)


In his free time he enjoys golf, fishing and spending time with his 6 grandchildren
